Now, there’s more to each of the steps. And it’s important to note down the tiny details. So, if you have some spare time let’s jump right in-
How to Get Beer Stain Out of Carpet?
Getting beer on your carpet can become a big problem. Let me clear it out. Beer has sugar in it which can get quite sticky as you know. So, when it’s in your carpet it can attract more dust, eventually making a stain.
However, if you get it out quickly, you’ll be okay. So, let’s get on with how you can remove beer stains from your carpet.
Step 1: Soak Up As Much as the Beer You Can
The first thing you’d want to do is clean up as much of the excess beer you can. It’s important because you need to remove most of the beer before it gets into the fibers of your carpet.
Otherwise, the stain will get permanent and you’ll have to bring in a professional. So, make sure to be quick when you’re cleaning.
You can use anything you like to clean it such as a paper towel, a clean white rag or cloth. On a different note, never use a colored rag. You see, the color from the beer can transfer to the carpet. So, always use a white one.
Now when it comes to the cleaning part, remember to apply some pressure on the carpet when doing it. It’ll be a lot easier for you. You can also stand on the cloth to soak up more beer.
However, never rub the rag. It can worsen the situation by spreading the stain even more.
Step 2: Make a Vinegar Solution
The reason we suggest white vinegar is because it’s disinfectant and antibacterial. It’ll get rid of the stain without doing any damage to the carpet. And most importantly, it’s a natural product.
In order to make the vinegar solution, you only need ⅓ cup of white vinegar and 2-3 cups of distilled water.
Although you can choose to use tap water. But we recommend using distilled water as it won’t interfere with any particles. Moreover, distilled water is cleaner and safer.
Step 3: Spray the Solution
Here’s the thing-
You need to spray the solution directly on the stain. Keep spraying until the area is damp. However, don’t spray so much that it’ll get drenched with the solution.
Note that you have to let the spray sit on for more than 2 minutes. After that clean up the solution like you did with the beer. You can use a clean white rag or paper towel like before.
Now, you have to repeat the process over and over until there’s no more vinegar left. This repetition will ensure that you’ve managed to reach almost all of the stain particles.
Step 4: Apply a Detergent Solution
The detergent is basically a second layer of solution for getting rid of the carpet stain. So, you’ll need to apply this after the vinegar solution. Now, to make the solution you need 1 cup of water and a few drops of dish-washing detergent.
Any kind of detergent works but dish-washing detergent can dissolve quickly. That’s why we suggest using it.
You can mix these in a bowl or in a spray bottle. Although the spray bottle works better.
Now, spray some detergent solution on the stained area and blot it up using a clean rag or paper towel. Like before you have to repeat the process until the solution finishes.
Step 5: Rinse and Dry
Now, pour some clean water on the area of the stain. This will help the vinegar and detergent work more efficiently. After waiting for 2-3 minutes, soak up the water with a clean cloth or paper towel.
After you’ve rinsed the stain it’s time to dry it out. Keep in mind that you must dry out the carpet as quickly as you can. You see if it’s wet for too long the moisture won’t get out and it’ll start breeding.
Turn on the fan to quickly dry it out. If you don’t have one, you can use some silica gels. It’ll soak the liquid in a few hours.
However, it’s important that you don’t use a hairdryer. The heat can cause damage to your carpet.
Step 6: Apply Some Baking Soda and Vacuum
Using some baking soda on the stain can remove any leftover smell. Simply sprinkle some baking soda on the area and that’ll do the trick.
Finally, vacuum the area to remove any liquid and baking soda. If you still have some odor or stain left on the carpet you can clean the carpet using a wet vac.
- Remember to remove the beer stain as soon as possible. It’s important that you don’t delay it.
- If you somehow can’t remove the stain, try contacting a professional carpet cleaning service. Even though it’ll be expensive, at least you get to keep your carpet.
