Step 1: Calculate How Many Tiles You Need

Place a big sheet of paper on one side of the step. Then, use a utility knife to carefully cut the sheet of paper according to the size of your step. Repeat the process again for the other side of the step.
When cutting the sheet of paper, make sure that you leave no extra edge on it. Cutting them perfectly is necessary for fitting the tiles evenly.
Now, place as many tiles as you can on a cutting board and put the template on one of them. Cut the carpet tiles according to your template. Continue doing it until you have enough tiles to cover all the steps.
Step 4: Install the Carpet Tiles
Now that you’ve made a template and cut your carpet tiles according to it, it’s time to see if they check out.
Place all the carpet tiles on the steps to see if they look good. If not, you can always change the pattern. Most importantly, you should see if they fit properly.
After that, you can start the installation process. First, take off the cover of adhesive strips. Then, start placing the tiles on the stair one by one.
