C-PVC 

C-PVC stands for chlorinated PVC. This pipe contains more chlorine than any other PVC pipe and was invented in the 60s. But day by day, the manufacturing process changed. 

C-PVC pipes contain more chemicals. For example- pigments, stabilizers, lubricants, etc. 

Pros

C-PVC is built to transport drinking water. These are also used as fittings, carrying other chemical liquids. C-PVC pipes have a great advantage. You can transport water at different temperatures through the pipes. That’s why C-PVC pipes are used in sewers or residential areas. 

The high amount of chlorine also ensures germs are eliminated. C-PVC pipes are also more durable than UPVC pipes. C-PVC pipes are more flexible compared to UPVC pipes. It’s also 100% recyclable. So these features make the C-PVC pipes more usable. 

Cons

There are some disadvantages as well. The pipe cracks in freezing temperatures. It has less UV protection than PVC-C. Direct sunlight exposes UV rays, which degrades the pipe. 

Another problem is that the C-PVC melts at a very high temperature. It starts to melt, reaching 100-120 degrees celsius. 

PVC-O

PVC-O is molecularly oriented PVC. This PVC pipe is another version of PVC-U. The difference is PVC-O has more layers in the structure. It’s heavier than PVC-U.

This type of pipe is also unplasticized. They are used at strong pressure water supplies, fittings, sewer, or irrigation pipes.

PVC-Hi

PVC-Hi has excellent flexibility and power and it’s very durable. It has a smooth inner wall and lowers fluid resistance.
