Using Vinegar to Remove Wrinkles From Clothes
We live in an era where you can find many products to remove wrinkles from clothes. But, vinegar is more of a natural solution. It’s not harmful like most chemical products.
That could be a reason for you to be inclined to use vinegar for this purpose. Vinegar is also pretty cheap compared to those products.
The versatility of vinegar is quite amazing. You can use vinegar to clean pavers, counters, and many more.
Now, let’s not wait any longer and right into it-
Step 1: Preparing The Vinegar
In case you didn’t guess, yes you have to prepare the vinegar. You can’t just apply raw vinegar to your clothes. It’ll ruin the texture of your clothes.
The vinegar needs to be in solution with water. 1 of 4 parts needs to be vinegar. And the rest of the 3 parts need to be water.
You’ll need a spray bottle for this. So, pour the vinegar and water into that spray bottle and mix it well. For ironing 2-3 clothes, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 3 tablespoons of water will do.
With that mixture, you can even remove highlighters from clothes.
But it might be hard to spray from the spray bottle this way. So do whichever is better for you.
Step 2: Applying The Vinegar
Before applying the vinegar, you can test if your cloth reacts to it or not. Some clothes might actually react to the vinegar and become discolored.
To test this, pour 1-2 drops of vinegar on a corner of the clothing first. Wait for a few seconds to see if it reacts. If it reacts then stop right and don’t spray any vinegar.
But if it doesn’t then you’re good to go. You can either hang the clothes or lay them somewhere.
Now spray the vinegar solution on your clothes. Make sure to get the wrinkled parts. Now, if you haven’t hung your clothes already, hang them.
Your work is pretty much done now. Don’t use any dryer. You can dry the cotton naturally and that is what you need.
Step 3: Ironing The Clothes (Optional)
This step is when you need to wrinkle-free your clothes much faster. Basically, you just have to iron your clothes.
Now, what happens if there are spots under your iron? Well, you can fix that using vinegar.
Pour vinegar on a piece of cloth. You can use raw vinegar for this. Then rub those spots a few times and they’ll be gone.
Now you can move on to ironing the clothes. This will continue from the last step after you’ve just sprayed your clothes. Lay the clothes out on an iron stand or a flat surface and iron away.
Focus on the wrinkled parts. You should be able to iron them in peace. You can wear them as soon as you’re done ironing them.
Is Vinegar Safe For Clothes?
Yes, Vinegar is pretty safe for clothes. A lot of people actually clean their clothes. Vinegar works well when removing spots from clothes.
The advantage of that is you don’t have to use any strong detergent like bleach. You don’t have to worry about staining those clothes in the process either.
Clothes can actually get stained by vinegar though. But that’s a pretty rare sight. In fact, vinegar has the power to brighten up the color of clothes.
Since vinegar is a natural component, it’s actually Eco-friendly. In my opinion, you should use vinegar on your clothes occasionally.
Vinegar even keeps your clothes from fading. And saves you the trouble of buying a fabric softener. Because vinegar can soften the fabric itself.
Basically, not only is vinegar safe for clothes, it’s actually pretty helpful.
Which Vinegar Is Best for Removing Wrinkles?
When I said Vinegar is safe to use, I didn’t mean all kinds of vinegar. There are many different types of vinegar.
